Terms & Conditions
Effective: 1 June 20261. Acceptance of Terms
By joining the break waitlist, registering as a member, or using any break platform feature (web, app, or physical hotspot), you agree to be fully bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not access or use break services. We may update these Terms periodically; continuing to use break after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility & Membership Qualifiers
break is exclusively available to individuals aged 18 and above who are:
- Verified professionals employed at a corporate office, tech park, or co-working space with a valid work email domain.
- Enrolled students at a recognized university or college campus with a verifiable institutional email address.
- Members of any designated partner café or enterprise plan explicitly invited to access the platform.
break reserves the right to revoke membership and delete accounts that fail to maintain these eligibility criteria or provide false verification information at any time without prior notice.
3. Code of Conduct
break is designed to be a safe, respectful, and professional casual connection space. All members agree to:
- Treat every member with dignity, respect, and professionalism at all times.
- Refrain from any form of harassment, unwanted physical contact, discriminatory language, or intimidating behavior at partner hotspots or in any communication on the platform.
- Never attempt to collect, share, or distribute another member's personal information (phone number, home address, personal email) beyond what is explicitly offered.
- Never solicit, arrange, or coerce romantic or sexual exchanges on the break platform. break is strictly a casual, professional networking and social wellness platform.
- Not impersonate another person, use a fake identity, or misrepresent your organization affiliation to gain access or matches.
4. Safe Behaviour & Partner Hotspot Rules
All matchups organized by break occur exclusively in designated partner cafés, corporate park lounges, and verified public high-traffic areas. Members must:
- Arrive on time for scheduled break meetups and respect the 10–15 minute designated interaction window.
- Follow all partner café rules, including ordering from the menu, respecting seating arrangements, and maintaining an acceptable noise level.
- Report any discomfort, inappropriate conduct, or safety incident immediately through the in-app report tool or by contacting safety@break.in.
- Not attempt to move or escalate any break meetup to a private, off-campus, or undisclosed location.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the break platform — including but not limited to the brand name, logo, website design, application interface, algorithms, matching logic, imagery, and written content — is the exclusive intellectual property of break (the company) and its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works, reverse engineer, or otherwise exploit any part of the break platform without prior written permission from break.
6. User Content
Any profile information, photos, feedback, or other content you submit to break grants break a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the platform. You represent that you own or have the rights to any content you submit, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
break is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the platform's availability, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. break does not guarantee that you will successfully match with other users, that matches will be a good fit, or that any offline meetup will result in a desired outcome. We are not liable for the conduct of any user at partner hotspots or offline.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, break and its directors, employees, partners, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the break platform or any offline interaction facilitated by it. Our total liability to you for any cause of action shall not exceed ₹1,000 (Indian Rupees one thousand).
9. Termination
- By break: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, our Code of Conduct, or any applicable law.
- By you: You may delete your account at any time via your account settings. All your personal data will be permanently erased from our servers within 24 hours of deletion.
- Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to access the break platform immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) shall remain in full force.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
